GENERAL INFORMATION

The AIS Primary Campus (PreSchool to Year 6) is located in Kemang, and the Secondary Campus (Year 7 to Year 12) is located close by in Pejaten. All classrooms are equipped with the latest in teaching and learning technology, have instant connectivity to the world wide web, and are designed in a way that allow teachers to harness the enormous educational potential of the internet. Additional facilities include an air-conditioned gymnasium/auditorium, pool designed for learners and advanced swimmers, covered sports multi-court, large artificial turf football field, all-weather futsal field, dedicated computer labs, a wide range of specialist rooms, and fully serviced canteens.

Australia’s highly interactive teaching approach encourages student participation and develops confidence, effective communication, analysis, and problem solving skills. These 21st century skills are highly valued by leading tertiary institutions and employers who are increasingly seeking individuals who have the ability to think creatively and work effectively in teams. The formal curriculum is supported by after school activities, individual and team sports, community service projects, and opportunities for students to take on leadership roles. Parents are welcome at all times and many play an active role in school community events and school governance.

The key to success is providing the right learning environment staffed by caring teachers who love to teach and nurture each child’s special talents. Each classroom has a well-qualified expatriate teacher, one Teaching Assistant and at least one Learning Support Assistant. Classes are small with the maximum number of student set at 22 at most levels. This helps AIS to create and maintain a friendly and supportive family-oriented environment that emphasises high achievement and success for all students.

Level of Education

  • Preschool

The beginning years of AIS starts from 3 to 5 years old. These preschool years are considered the golden age of a child with almost countless learning capabilities. Under the right care and learning exposure from our preschool approach, your preschoolers too can benefit from our engaging preschool program. Designed to be the most advanced international school for preschoolers applying Australian Curriculum including enquiry approach and a full range of extra-curricular, AIS aims to ignite passion  where creativity, intuition, and self-exploration come first. AIS preschool takes cues from these little learners and together, children and educators become the reservoirs for the most ideal learning environment in AIS.

  • Primary

The Primary School curriculum is currently based on the new Australian Curriculum. Designed to foster a life-long love of learning, it is a curriculum that will provide students with a sound foundation for academic life in school and beyond. Traditional subject areas such as English and Mathematics are high priority learning areas. The subject areas of History, Science and Geography are taught as Units of Enquiry. Skills and concepts developed in these subject areas underpin learning across the entire curriculum.

Assessment is carried out against standards set by AusVELS and the Australian Curriculum framework. Using this framework of learning outcomes, students and teachers determine individual needs by reviewing and planning learning goals. Teachers are tasked with ensuring that the learning covers a full range in depth of thinking, allowing each student to experience success along with practical application.

  • Secondary

A stately mansion with multiple facilities, AIS offers a stimulating Australian Curriculum along with a range of exciting opportunities for students from Year 7 to 12 and the IB Diploma for Senior Secondary. AIS' students are encouraged to maximise their potential, explore possibilities and take responsibility for their learning. Each student’s development is guided by experienced staff working closely in partnership with the student’s parents.

AIS is a friendly and cohesive community based on strong relationships between students, teachers and parents. Counsellors, subject and homeroom teachers provide support and encouragement in the process of working through personal interests, making course selections and career choices.
